The following software packages are available locally for downloads:

In order to access the download, you will need your NetID.  Software designated for Administrators will require additional privilege.

For Student/Staff/Faculty Use:

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection - Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware Software
  • PuTTY - A free telnet and SSH Client for Windows and Unix platforms.
  • WinSCP - A SFTP and FTP Transfer Client.
  • Adobe - Run the latest version of Adobe Reader.
  • Microsoft DreamSpark - Login to take advantage of Microsoft Products.
      1. Save any open files and close all windows except for the browser
      2. Click on the link
      3. Click Run
      4. Click Yes if you are prompted with a security warning
      5. Wait for setup to complete, which takes a few minutes
      6. When setup is complete, you will see an icone for NWRDC.hep on your desktop
      7. Close all open windows
      8. Restart the PC - Issues have been reported using Firefox.  Please use Internet Explorer for best results and allow a few seconds for the download to begin.  This software may only be downloaded from USF Desktops.

    SSH Clients

    • PuTTY can handle SSH, Telnet, and Rlogin network protocols. PuTTY is time-tested, and available for Windows and Unix-based systems.
    • WinSCP can be used for file transfer. 
    • Fugu can be used as a Mac SFTP/SCP client

    OSSEC

    For USF Administrators Only
    OSSEC is an Open Source Host-based Intrusion Detection System. It performs log analysis and correlation, integrity checking, rootkit detection, time-based alerting and active response. It runs on most operating systems, including Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Solaris and Windows.
