Wireless Connection PDF Print E-mail

Information Technology Communications as well as individual departments and colleges provide wireless coverage in nearly all academic buildings and many outdoor areas. You can use 802.11b/g (Wi-Fi) compatible devices anywhere service is provided; most locations also support the higher speed 802.11a and n (AirPort Extreme for Macintosh users) standards.

The wireless service is provided free of charge to USF students, faculty and staff.

Prerequisites

In order to use the wireless network at the University of South Florida you must:

   1. Have a wireless card in your computer. Typically wireless adapters built into laptops have the best performance.
   2. Have a valid USF NetID. Students, faculty or staff can activate their NetID at University Network Access.

If you encounter problems, please contact the Information Technology Help Desk at (813) 974-1222
