Beginning January 17th, USF Information Technology will launch the new guest wireless access system allowing guests at USF Tampa to access the wireless network via their personal devices. Visitors on campus for university-related business will be able to access the wireless network, “USF_Guest”, which will direct them to a web site where they will enter their cell phone information in order to receive an access code via text message. Alternatively, for those without text messaging plans, visitors will still provide their cell phone numbers, but the code will be read to them verbally. Guests will then have access to the network for a 24-hour period. The new wireless guest access system is very exciting and provides USF Tampa guests an easier method for gaining access to the wireless network around campus. Current faculty, staff, and students should continue accessing the wireless network via the USF and USF-Gold networks. Please note: The new system is for guests of the Tampa campus only; this does not include USF Health. |
